Castle in Murau
The 700 years old provincial town invites the visitors by the renaissance castle (it was the residence of Prince Schwarzenberger), medieval city center, pleasant coffee-shops and restaurants.
Brewery Museum (Murauer Bier)
Beer has been produced since 1495 in Murau.
The Museum of Beer was opened in 1995 on the 500 th anniversary of beer-brewing.
There are 28 stairs which lead to the cellar of the brewer master where the spicy details of the beer history are waiting for you.
Swimming pool in Murau (Hallenbad Murau)
Covered swimming pool for the undisturbed swimming in winter and summer.
The big pool is 25 metres long, the children’s pool is 1 metre deep, the slide is 34 metres long and there are sunbathing terrace, sauna, massage, restaurant.
Wooden Bridge
The 45-meter long wooden ’Europebrodge’ crosses the river Mur without suspension.
It was made from 550 cubic metres of larch and the masterpiece of the wooden architecture.
Museum of Wood (St. Ruprecht)
In 2010 the museum is open from 1st April till 31st October.
Visiting the museum is more than a walk, it guides us into the fascinating world of wood.
All kind of objects made of wood can be found on the exhibition like simple wooden toys, old village furniture, mill, wooden bicycle, etc.)
This is an adventure for children and adult too.
